phishtriage
Browser extension + portal

Know what
you're looking at.

One click in Gmail or Outlook web — or on any page that feels off — and what you're reading gets a plain-English verdict: who it pretends to be, what it's really after, and the evidence. No forwarding to IT, no account, no security degree.

01 · DETECT

Scan it right where you found it

A PhishTriage button sits in your Gmail or Outlook toolbar. Click it and the extension reads only what's already on your screen — subject, sender, reply-to, links, attachment names — and sends nothing anywhere until you ask.

Not an email? Any page you're unsure about can be scanned from the toolbar popup — the landing page a link took you to, a checkout that feels off, a login form you don't quite trust.

WORKS WITH

reads the page you see — never your mailbox

02 · ANALYZE

A verdict you can actually read

Verdicts arrive the way an analyst would say them: “Don't trust this”, “Be careful”, or “Looks safe” — with a line naming who the message impersonates and what it wants from you: your password, a payment, your 2FA code.

Behind the plain English sits the case file — nine independent checks scored separately, the signals that actually fired, and the indicators of compromise with an analyst's note on each. The checks run on the message itself — how it authenticates, who it claims to be, where its links actually go, and what any attachment really is.

03 · PROTECT

Covered between the scans

Turn on Background protection and every site you land on is checked against live threat intelligence — by hostname only, by default. A flagged site gets a full-page warning before you type anything, with a way back to safety and the details one tap away.

It warns — it doesn't silently censor. You can always see why, and you can always proceed. Switch it off, or revoke the browser permission, and the traffic stops that instant.

04 · TEAMS

Your whole team, two clicks

Generate an invite code in the portal — that alone creates your organisation. Teammates redeem it and their devices join. One dashboard for everyone's scans and verdicts.

portal → invite code

Start a team

No sales call, no setup wizard. The first invite you generate creates the org; every redeemed code adds a seat to your dashboard.

managed policy

Roll out a fleet

Push the proxy address, monitoring defaults and an enrolment token by browser policy. Devices join the org on install — nothing typed, settings locked and labelled Managed.

your proxy, your data

Self-host the backend

Point the extension at a PhishTriage proxy you run yourself — triage traffic never leaves your infrastructure. HTTPS enforced, validated on both ends.

05 · PRIVACY

What we read, what we keep, what we never see

  • We read only what's on your screen, only when you ask. Nothing is read or sent until you click Analyze, and the extension holds the minimum permissions a toolbar button needs — broad access exists only if you opt into monitoring, and revoking it stops the traffic immediately.
  • We never see your mailbox. No mail-server access, no mailbox permissions — the button reads the open message from the page, the same way you do.
  • Analyzing an email never opens its attachments. Filenames only — the contents are not read and do not leave your mailbox.
  • Checking downloaded files is a separate feature, and it is off. Turn on file protection and PhishTriage reads files you download, in your browser's memory, to see what they really are. By default it sends a fingerprint — a hash, which cannot be turned back into your file — and sends the file itself only when you press "Check it properly" on one. A further switch, "Deep scan every file", is what makes every download upload; it is off, and it says what it does.
  • What we keep is your scan history — and it's yours to see. Verdicts and the content you submitted are stored under a random server-minted ID so your history and your team's dashboard work. No sign-up, no email address — until you choose to link a portal account.
  • Monitoring is off by default — and hostname-only when on. Full-URL checking is a separate switch, labelled for what it is: more invasive.
